It was a pleasure working with Dave and he always responded to all my questions and concerns. We looked at several designs for the walkway and he was always willing to price out different options and scenarios. When it came time to do the work, he was always there when he said he would be and kept me informed of where he was in the process and expected timeline. The end product is beautiful. We have already received several inquiries as to who did the work. I was impressed with the pouring of the concrete footings for the stairs due to the weight of the granite, as the other companies I looked at were not going to do this. I would certainly use Chaput Stone for future projects.

Description of work:
We had an old brick walkway replaced with a new paver walkway. We also had our old sagging front steps replaced with granite stairs.

Dave and his team are excellent. Dave did an outstanding job not only of informing us of the process, timelines, delivery schedules, etc. He made suggestions on how to improve the patio and it’s functionality through a number of design changes during the process. Dave is completely committed to his business, takes pride in his work and it shows in the results. I do not often write reviews yet I would not only suggest Dave Chaput to others, I would hire him again for any work that is needed.

Dave and his crew were outstanding, and I can not recommend them highly enough! Their pricing was extremely fair and almost identical to most other quotes we got. Dave originally said the job would take about 7 days but they were done in less than 5. He was the only quote we received that not only noticed the grading issues at our house (the yard pitches toward the house where we wanted to path to be installed), but had an immediate plan to address it during our first meeting. He was extremely professional and answered all questions and e-mails quickly and patiently. If you have ANY hardscaping you want done, Chaput Natural Stone and Pavers is the place to call!

Description of work:
19×17 patio in backyard, with walkway extending from driveway, blended into side entrance to garage. Concrete pavers. Also excavated backyard to level the area, and built a dry well from the gutter to the middle of backyard.

They worked very hard until the job was done and done beautifully. It took them 1 week to transform our backyard.

He arrived on time and provided me with an approximate price for my project, which was what I wanted. He was going to look for additional info and get back to me, which did not happen. I am not sure if that was part of the offer, so I’m unsure if it was part of what I paid for.

He showed up when he said he would; david and his workers started early(7 am) each morning and showed extreme professionalism and knowledge. David also was very good with design and provided ideas to me that I did not think of…..
I would most definitely recommend him to friends and family and I would most definitely use him again. When they were done, they cleaned up thoroughly. If a change had to be made, David communicated and showed me what and why.

Dug up old Patio area, discarded pavers, dug out base – discarded, added 3 gravel then sand, compressed, new pavers laid, material swept into paver joints.

I would highly recommend David! I was tasked with selling a decrepit family home whose curb appeal verged on embarrassing. I found David on Angie’s List, explained the situation and that I needed the job done quickly. He visited the house, designed a new porch surface/step/walkway and in a matter of days, he removed old cinder blocks, flagstones and make-shift steps and transformed the area into the talk of the neighborhood. After seeing how beautiful the front porch was, I asked him to install a fire pit in the back yard (a deal he was offering on Angie’s List) and again, that was put in right away, it’s beautiful and exactly on budget.

David removed old concrete blocks and flagstones from the front porch area then put “techo-bloc” on the front porch (which was just a concrete slab) and added a walkway, granite step and cobble stone edging for a garden. Also installed a fire pit in the back yard.

They had to excavate quite a bit since our yard is on a slope. The first few days were excavation and prep. I can tell that the drainage was done very well since that’s what took the longest. In the end, they handled all the curveballs and special requests very professionally and reasonably. We’re very happy with our patio.

This company has been around for years and is by far the best in service and quality. This is our second project with Chaput Natural Stone & Pavers LLC and it was great. In 2010 we had them install a smaller, simple, inexpensive paver patio with a fire pit in our old home and was very impressed with the quality. We moved in 2012 to our new home and wanted a much larger paver patio with some added features and a nicer stone. We decided to shop around as we did the first time and Dave was by far the best to deal with. His attention to detail cannot be replicated by others. He creates a design based on his years of experience and provides you with a great package. He will come to your home and layout the project in paint to give you a feel for what he is proposing and gives you time to think about it. No pressure on making a decision or even selecting him. Once he starts, you’ll be impressed. There were several instances where he or his team put pavers down and picked them back up because it was perfect. There is a sense of pride in the workmanship his team provides which I have not seen very often in other contractors. Dave was very responsive to our communications (via email or text). He started when he committed to start and finished as promised (one week). Our backyard was transformed and we love it. I highly recommend Dave Chaput for stone or paver work. You will not be disappointed.

Dave Chaput was very good at creating a design we hadn’t thought about and keeping the costs down. Even when we asked about adding more details (e.g. pillars at the end of certain sitting walls) which would have easily increased the price, Dave was very honest and convinced us it would look nicer without it. He was right.
